How it all beganArthur Edwards had been formally trialling the lottery in the High Wycombe area since early 2008 after running the idea past Gemma Benoliel in early 2007. The system is based on lotteries run by other charities and clubs. Charitable causes are always looking to raise money and local committees are often tasked to raise as much as possible with dances, bring & buy, raffles, etc. Further, we always hope to receive bequests through the Wills of the deceased, but these are largely unknown until they happen and any budgeting cannot rely on this aspect. The SCKPA Lottery will provide a constant flow of funds (minimum 50% of ticket sales) throughout the year. Arthur thought the lottery was a great idea to allow people to participate, to raise funds for SCKPA and to further raise awareness of SCKPA and what we do by encouraging friends and neighbours to join in. The SCKPA lottery 'went global' in July 2008 |
