SCKPA 50th Anniversary lunch
2nd June 2019 at the Oxford Belfry, Milton Common
The 50th anniversary of the SCKPA was celebrated with an excellent lunch at the Oxford Belfry, Milton Common on Sunday 2nd June 2019.
The gold balloons and decorations were organised by Jose and Erika Rico-Diaz, along with a display of recent editions of VIVA! and commemorative Sidney lapel badges for sale.
Our special guests were Mr Brian Buchan, The Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire and Dr Chris Winearls, MB DPhil FRCP. We were also pleased to welcome Dr Phil Mason, Allie Thornley, Andy Mossom and Margaret Paul, the first sister in the dialysis unit.
Mr Buchan gave a most interesting talk on the duties and roles required of a Lord-Lieutenant, including attending functions, such as our anniversary lunch, and paying tribute to the invaluable work done by charities and organisations throughout the county.
Dr Winearls gave the response and the lunch was concluded with a game of 'Heads and Tails' that raised £200 towards SCKPA funds. The lucky winner received a voucher most generously provided by the Oxford Belfry Hotel for a night's stay with dinner included.
