Our Grandson’s fund-raising effort for SCKPA

Oliver is 15 and goes to Cottesloe School in Wing.  The school support five local charities each year by the various year groups.  All children had an opportunity to vote for a charity of their choice. 

Oliver chose SCKPA as he remembers the charity supporting him when he was younger, while his dad Neal was going through dialysis and then receiving a kidney from his older brother Bryan. As many of you will know we have since lost our son Neal, Oliver’s dad. 

Oliver was very pleased when the school announce that the year-10 charity would be SCKPA. 

The 'Couch to 5K’ challenge

The school held a ‘Couch to 5K’ challenge on 29th March 2023 and, inspired by contributions to-date, Oliver and his friend completed a run of nearly 7K!

"I’ve done it, my friend and I ran just short of 7K, both with bad knees and both completed our DoE last week. Thank you all so much. With gift aid I’ve raised about £950"

The Manchester Marathon

A teacher in year-10, Mr Magill is also running the Manchester Marathon in aid of SCKPA.
